The Golden Valley Sheriff’s Office has 142 years of collective experience, and a wide variety of training that includes ethics instructor, firearms instructor, PVOC instructor, breath test specialist, DUI, active shooter, advanced firearms, hostage response, and anti-terrorism. The staff have completed over 10 basic academy courses and upwards of 6,000 additional training hours.

The duties of a sheriff’s office are set by Montana Code Annotated 7-32-2121, and includes preserving the peace, suppressing riots and breaches of the peace, performing the duties of a humane officer for the protection of animals, the service of legal papers, and search and rescue.
