The Golden Valley County Sheriff’s Office offers building and property checks to all community members. The checks can vary from increased patrols in the area to a physical check of the property to ensure the doors are locked and the building is secure.

When you are gone on a trip, are having issues with trespassing, or generally don’t feel safe building checks are available to all community members.

How it works

Call Dispatch and request a check at your specified address. Let them know how long you want the checks for, who is allowed or expected to be on the property, what kind of check you are requesting, and how often you’d like officers to check the property.

Your building check is kept secure and is referred to only by a number on the radio. This ensures that no one with a radio scanner knows your potentially empty property is being watched while you are out of town.
